Ashdown Forest Health Centre RSS Feeds

What are News Feeds?

RSS Icon

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as it's published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

Feeds are generally known as RSS which are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people.

How to use RSS Feeds

There are a number of ways to use RSS Feeds.

  1. Modern Web Browser Most popular browsers - including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome will check for available feeds when visiting a site, and will display the RSS icon when they find a feed.
  2. Web-based Reader Many web-based readers / aggregators are available. These are particularly useful if you want to access feeds from multiple computers or devices. Examples include Google Reader, Netvibes, and more.
  3. Desktop Reader Some e-mail software, such as Microsoft Outlook, allows consumption of RSS feeds. In addition, there are dedicated news reader software that can be installed - though it usually has a cost.
